Thanksgiving & Joy

"This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." -Psalm 118:24
The pictures you see above are just snippets of my freshman year.
As I'm about to start another exhilarating year at Wheaton, I look back at past photos and praise God for such faithful friends. When I think back, I'm proud now to call Wheaton my home and my classmates as brothers and sisters. May the Lord continue to work within us that we might be equipped to do every good work that He calls us to do. So in light of another chapter that's about to unfold and in the words of our Todd Beamer, "Let's roll!"

A Glimpse of Heaven

“It is His joy that remains in us that makes our joy full.” ~ A. B. Simpson

Dearest James, you laugh and babble of childish things.
Yet, we all envy you for the Kingdom of God is for those like thee.
Thank you for reminding everyone to,
"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say to you: Rejoice!" (Philip.4:4).
I can't wait to see what an awesome man of God you'll be my little friend.
Thank you for being you.

Grand Teton National Park

Grand Teton National Park. July 2012 @ WCSS.

"The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning. It's time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me,
Let me be singing when the evening comes.

Bless the Lord oh my soul."

Reflection on Tears

Eyes. Windows to the soul.
They're clouded, scarred, hurt.
Once clear, innocent, transparent.
Only to trail out in moments when emotions cannot be dammed.
Must break loose for fear of erupting.
Tears flowing along the same winding path but can carry
with it jubilee, hate, guilt, abuse, fear.
Things unquantifiable.
Do i not weep just like the little girl?
Can i anymore?
Or are my eyes damming themselves?
Walls for fear of showing the murky waters.
look into one another's eyes for they don't lie,
and gaze, feel, cry, and restore for you too have these.
Her eyes are windows to that soul.
